Sean Callaghan – Foil & Epee Coach
Sean started fencing in Idaho at the age of 8. He immediately fell in love with the sport and has now been fencing for 15 years. His first 8 years of fencing were in foil, but he made the transition to epee after his first NAC epee event where he finished in the top 64. Since that result, Sean has been competing nationally in Epee. As he progressed in his fencing career he began to get results in Junior epee events; he achieved a top 20 national ranking by the end of his second year.
Sean is now studying Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego and just finished his last competitive year with the UCSD NCAA Fencing Team. While on the team, Sean served as Men’s Epee Squad Captain in his Junior year and then as Team Captain in his final year.
