Every Friday 6:30pm – 7:15pm
After a successful two week trial, we are now in full-swing with a robust 45-minute footwork class led by Coach Alex. Friday Footwork Challenge (FFC) is a complimentary program for Alpha Dog fencers that will cost all other students $10 per class. It will take place every Friday and is meant to supplement the footwork and conditioning learned during classes.
FFC is meant to increase flexibility and power, as well as to help prevent injury by strengthening the muscles in an athlete’s “non-weapon hand” stance. It is appropriate for ages 7+ (mature athletes only) and it is available for students of any weapon. A second coach will be available to assist students who may not be confident with some of the new footwork actions.
Students should participate in this program to the best of their abilities. Some of the younger athletes may only complete 30 minutes of the program – and that’s fine. They can rest for 10 minutes and then spar until 7:30 or 8 pm. Older students should plan on completing the 45-minute session and then suit up for some light sparring as well.
Please join us every week for the Friday Footwork Challenge from 6:30-7:15 pm. Students can also begin open fencing at 6:30 if they are not participating in the footwork challenge.
